Just smile about it – by Brian Jala bio picture

Welcome to my blog!

I am based in Hong Kong and I enjoy taking photos of almost everything but what I truly love about photography is the story behind each frame.

I discovered my love for telling stories through the lens a few years ago. I picked up a camera and started shooting whatever I can see around me and posted them online. People started noticing them and enjoyed my work and the feedback I received from them gave me a boost in my confidence. During that time, I started taking portraits of people and my work expanded from a hobby to a photography service for people around the world. I also had the opportunity to travel the world, capturing each special moment, both the big and the small ones. I get excited to meet my clients and getting to know them as it enables me to create unique and extraordinary photos.

I'm an accredited member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association - WPJA and the Artistic Wedding Photojournalism - AG|WPJA . I also bring with me the tools I have learnt from the New York Institute of Photography - NYIP.

I'm married to the most amazing woman! She is my partner-in-crime, my "other eye"! She enables me to see things from a different perspective and together we create better and more beautiful pictures. I am so blessed to have her work alongside me; she inspires, encourages and cheers me on each day.

The Wang Family

The weather in Hong Kong has been so unpredictable but I’m glad it didn’t rain during my shoot with the Wang family. They are visiting from LA and brought baby Terrance with them. They wanted to do a different type of family photoshoot. They wanted the city, the transportation, the crowd! Check out the sneak peek at the heart of Causeway Bay.

I feel blessed and honored to be a part of Hannah & John’s beautiful wedding. They are from Korea and are based here in Hong Kong. Their families flew in from Korea to celebrate and it was a wonderful ceremony at the Solomon’s Porch. While working with the beautiful couple, it brought back wonderful memories of when I got married. The makeup and hair was done by the skilled Gabrielle Lee. Here are a few highlights of their day.
