FAQ – Engagement/Prewedding photography

Here are a few tips to get you started with your engagement/pre-wedding photography session. One of the most common question I get from clients is “How should we prepare for our shoot?”. I’ve complied a few suggestions along with some FAQ’s regarding your shoot.

How do we secure your service for our day?

Once your date and time is confirmed, you will be requested to pay 50% (non-refundable) of the total amount to secure your appointment with us. When we receive your payment, I will send you a copy of the receipt as confirmation. This receipt also serves as your contract with us. The remaining balance will be paid within one week before your scheduled shoot.

Are your rates negotiable?

The rates are the same for everyone. The clients that we’ve worked with have been very happy with the products and services we provide.

Do we get a discount if we book our session with your wedding photography package?

Yes, you certainly do. Please contact us for more details.

What should we wear for the shoot?

If you choose to be casual, jeans and a shirt always looks good. You can go with light pastel colors but do avoid big logos or busy prints as these tend to distract the viewers eyes away from you. Coordinate your outfits, but don’t be too matchy. Layering is great and remember to accessorize.

How many outfits should I bring?

Depending on the package you choose, you can bring 2 or more outfits and as many accessories as you want.

Can we bring props?

Props are great tools to bring during your shoot. If there is an item(s) that means something to you guys, bring that too. i.e. a book you like to read together or a gift that both of you gave each other. These props should accessorize you and it will tell a story of you guys. The image below shows a book made by the couple in their first year of getting to know each other.

After the session:

After we have finished the session, I usually post a sneak peek preview within a day or two. I’ll post highlights of your session after one week and will give you a link with about 5 images for you to download and share with your family and friends. I will deliver your package within a time frame (4-6 weeks) as I do not want to rush through them.

Do you provide transportation for the shoot?

Yes, we recommend hiring transportation especially if the shoot location is far apart. e.g. New territories to Hong Kong Island. (applicable to 6+ hours of shooting)

Do you provide/rent make-up artist/gowns for shoots?

We can recommend people we have worked with. Please contact us for more details.

Can we use our own gown for the shoot?

Yes, of course.

What is the ‘behind the scenes’ video?

It is a presentation of a selection of photos and video clips taken during your shoot. It will come with a background music (either chosen by us or you).

I want to keep my photos private. Can I choose not to have any of my photos posted online but still share them with my family and friends?

Yes, I can provide you with a password to view your images online. You can also share this password with your family and friends.

What is in the package? And can I make prints myself?

The package will include your images in a DVD (2 copies). All your images will be in high resolution jpeg format. That means you can use these files to make as many prints as you like.

How many images can I expect in the package?

For a 2 hour session, you can expect about 150+ images in your DVD. They will all be in high resolution jpeg format.

The album/canvas:

If you purchase a photo album or a canvas, you will be given a password to log on to the client proofing site. You will be able to view and select your favourite images that you want printed in your album. Once you are satisfied with the album design, it will be sent to the factory for printing.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the shoot?

If the weather is bad, we will schedule your shoot to the next available date that is suitable for both of us.
